Overview
Now a day's blogs are becoming a bigger and bigger part in the advertising world. Before a blog was mainly used for informational purposes. People used blogs like a journal.
However times are changing, and blogs are now popping up left and right promoting business programs, and are drawing in a ton of free traffic.
Right now there are two places that I would recommend for getting a blog:
Wordpress.com is for advanced bloggers who know a little more about blogs, and want to have more control and freedom with their blog.
Wordpress.org is for those who have a web site and would like to host their very own blog on it. So your blog would be like this http://www.yoursite.com/blog I only recommend this for people who are very advanced with web sites and hosting.
Blogger.com is your blog for beginners. When I first started to blog this was where I got my very first blog. Then I moved on to wordpress.com then to wordpress.org.
If you're just starting out I recommend that you use either blooger.com or wordpress.com
What is a Blog?
A blog is a place where you can go and submit information and keep it either private or have it open for everyone to see and read. If used correctly a blog can become a HUGE moneymaker for you and your business.
Blogs allow you to talk about any topic you wish to, and post movies, images, and so much more! If you haven't had the time to sign up for a blog I suggest you do so, because you're missing out on a great and free way to draw traffic to your web site.
Blogs are also a very powerful tool because they can get ranked very high in popular search engines for very good keywords. We will discuss how to do this latter on.

What to Write in Your Blog
Once you've got your blog set up the next step is to start writing on your blog. So what exactly should you be writing or talking about? Well pretty much everything and anything! I would suggest writing about working at home, and how to make money online. Since that's why we are all here.
Do the same thing you would do for when you write a article. First go out and research a topic, and educate your self on it. Once you know enough about the topic then write a small 200 to 300 word article about it and post it to your blog.
A good thing I always do with my blog is after I write a article or press release I'll post it on my blog. So make sure you do the same. Everytime you write a article or press release post it to your blog. You can also use your blog to write reviews of other programs or business's you've been involved with.
Always remember though to keep your blog very informational, and never try to sell people, as this is a huge turn off
How To Get Your Blog Ranked
So you want to get your blog ranked high up in the big search engines like google. Well it's actually a very simple and easy thing to do.
First you will want to once again pick a keyword you wish to target. Remember that when you pick your keyword to make sure it doesn't have millions of searches.
Once you find a good keyword to use the next thing you'll want to do is make sure to use this word in your blog title. Putting your keyword in your blog title will help it stand out in google and other search engines greatly increasing your rank.
Next you'll want to use the keyword in the body of your post you made at least 10 times, but remember to not over do it as this could possible to more harm then good.
Then you should bold or underline your keyword three or four times. Also make sure you use your keyword within your first and last sentences of your blog post. This is another small trick that will greatly help increase your ranking.
Finally use your keyword in your link back to your web site. Make sure you always leave a link back to your web site after every post you make on your blog, and ALWAYS have your keyword in the link. After you're done that you will then want to ping your blog. We'll go over how to do this in our next step called "How To Ping Your Blog".
How To Ping Your Blog
The next step to help getting your blog ranked is to ping your blog. When you ping your blog you're telling search engines and directories that you've just updated your blog with fresh new content, and we all know search engines love fresh new content!
So here is what you'll want to do. Right after you made your post on your blog you're next step will be to visit either www.pingoat.com or www.pingomatic.com
I always use pingoat.com, but it doesn't really matter which one you use. They both will do the same thing.
Once you're at the web site you'll then want to enter in your blogs name followed by the blog URL. Next you'll then want to make sure you check all the boxes. After all the boxes are checked all you have to do then is simply hit the submit button and wait about 45 seconds for the process to be completed.
Once this process is complete you've just sent a message to all the search engines and blog directories telling them you've updated your blog!
