Overview
Using online classified ads are a great way to draw in some very good traffic to your website. Most online classified ad places will allow you to post a small ad for free on their site. However if you pay a very small fee you can have your ad placed above all the other free submissions.
Most people think posting free classified ads is a waste of time, and isn't worth the work. Which just isn't true especially if you are planning on using all free advertising or if you are on a budget. But remember, if you are posting a free ad you shouldn't expect to get a lot if you only post one ad. However if you follow the keys I've listed below you can greatly increase the exposure your ad gets.
Here is the key to online classified ad sites. First you will want to have a good headline. Something that stands out and draws attention to the ad. Your headline should make the user want to click open your ad to see what's inside. This will help increase the number if clicks your ad gets, and that is your main goal with online classified ads. You want to get people to look at and click the link to your lead capture page.
Another key point is to make sure that you post ads daily, and at a number of different free classified sites. You shouldn't just post one free classified ad per day. You should try to post as many as 20 or more. This will greatly increase the amount of traffic that comes from your free classified ads.
If you want to get even more exposure, and more traffic you can always pay a small fee and get your ad placed above all the free ads. This is sometimes the best thing to do especially on classified sites that get a lot of traffic.
Craigslist
Craigslist is a great place to post ads and get a great response. I made a lot of sales just from posting ads on Craigslist, and I know a lot of people who also made sales just from Craigslist ads alone. However there are things you have to watch out for or your ad will be flagged and removed and you can even get banned.
Here is the key to Craigslist. First you DO NOT want to make any type of account with them. Secondly you DO NOT want to sell people in your ad. If you try to sell people in your ad more then likely it will be flagged and removed from the site. Your goal basically is to get them to click on your link back to your lead capture page or sales page. When using Craigslist I always post under the jobs section in the sales area. Or I post in the small biz section. I will post 20 - 30 ads per day and only 2 - 3 ads are flagged and removed everyday.
Here is the other key to posting on Craigslist. Post ads daily. Your ads will be flagged and removed often and they will drop down in rank on the site fast. So the key is to post ads daily. I post the same exact ads every day of the week. What I recommend you do is use note pad and save every Craigslist ad your write. That way after a few weeks you will have 20+ ads that you can just copy and paste and use over and over again.
If you want to be able to post ads faster and save time, a great tool you can use is called Craygo. This program allows you to post ads much faster than doing them manually.
Be sure do download the ads below. Use these to post to Craigslist and Backpage. Use the first line of each ad as the subject line. You can use the ads as is, or you can re-write them, or use them to write your own ads.
Backpage
Back Page is a place just like Craigslist that I use everyday to post more free ads. The only real difference is I post under the "business opportunity" section. What I do is create a list of ads again which I will save in note pad and use the same ads over and over every day. Back Page allows you to post business opportunities so you'll be able to sell people in your ads that you post. However since Back Page doesn't get as much traffic as Craigslist does you might only be able to post the same ad every 2 or 3 days, or else you will get a error message saying your ad is already posted. The way around this is to simply make up new ads that you haven't posted yet.
USfreeAds
Usfreeads is a great place that allows you to post a few free ads each week. What makes this place stand out among all others is the ability the ads have of getting ranked high up in Google. You can also post html or plain text messages allowing you to really take advantage of your ad copy. Usfreeads also offers the abillality for you to upgrade your account to a paid member. With doing so you can post more ads and get higher positioning. Plus you get discounts if you ever purchase anything from their site.
The key to usfreeads is to optimize your ads so Google ranks them high up for your keywords. The way to do this is to use the heading1 font size for your title and make sure you place your keyword into your title. Then use your keyword in your ad copy at least 10 times. Make sure you bold, and underline your text a few times.
InetGiant
Inetgiant is one of the largest online classified ads sites. It gets a tremendous amount of views each day. Having an ad posted on this site daily will only help you. However with so many ads being placed on this site your ad will drop off very quickly. So the key is to make sure you post on this site each day of the week to get the best results.
To get even more exposure to your ad for a small fee of around $15 you can have a hot spot ad placed on the left hand side of the site for one week. This will greatly increase your visibility, and the number of hits your ad receives. However make sure you use a catchy headline, as your goal is to get people to open your ad and read it.
